About Anne
Anne began her career as a Registered Dietitian over 30 years ago where she provided counseling ranging from nutrition therapy for weight control to addressing major medical issues for those individuals with serious illnesses. It was during this span of daily experience that she developed a passion to work with individuals with eating disorders, such as Bulimia and Anorexia Nervosa. She achieved a deeper understanding of the underlying psychological causes of these eating disorders, while working at Capistrano by the Sea Hospital in Dana Point, California. After leaving "Capo" Anne worked full time as the Program Director for the Eating Disorder Program at South Coast Medical Center. During this time she earned her Master's degree in psychology and was not just the program director but also a clinician that facilitated individual, couples, families and group therapy for the eating disorder and general psychiatric programs.
With over 25 years in the field of mental health and over 30 years as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Anne is a highly experienced and skilled professional. Her unique background as a therapist and a dietitian allows her to provide care from a unique perspective. She provides her expert care as a psychotherapist to individuals with eating disorder and substance issues as well as depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma. She provides her expertise as a dietitian to individuals seeking help in improving their health through changes in their diet and lifestyle. She has been providing treatment in a variety of settings include hospitals, outpatient programs and private practice.
Anne is a leader in the field of eating disorders. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. She has founded, developed and managed multiple programs in Orange County including Vista Blue, a transitional living home for individuals with eating disorders; Discovery Paths and Kuleana Therapy, Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Programs; South Coast Medical Center's Inpatient and Day Treatment Eating Disorder Programs; and Mission Hospital, Laguna Beach Day Treatment Eating Disorder Program.
Anne has facilitated the eating disorder support group, ANAD, for over 15 years. She is a guest speaker and lecturer at local schools, colleges, and businesses in Orange County where she has shared her expertise as a psychotherapist and dietitian.
Anne is a graduate of the University of California at Davis where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics; a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she earned her Master of Science, in Human Nutrition; and a graduate of California Southern University in Santa Ana where she earned her Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage Family Therapy. Anne continues her education through training programs in both nutrition and psychology. She is trained in a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Care and EMDR.
